Jacqueline Durran-costume designer

I'm a big fun of period films for many reasons, one of them is fashion;and by fashion i mean the costumes are special designed for the movie and not only travel us back to this period but also teach us fashion history. So this post is dedicated to one of my favorite costumes designers..
Jacqueline Durran is a British costume designer. She won the BAFTA award for Vera Drake. She received considerable attention for her work in Pride & Prejudice, for which she received an Oscar nomination and won a Satellite Award. She was nominated for Best Costume Design in the 80th Academy Awards for her work in Atonement.

do you want to feel like a goddess this summer?

look what i magazine freak discovered!
a Greek company founded in 2011 that makes shoes inspired by ancient Greek goddesses, nymphs and muses, called

Ancient Greek Sandals are handmade locally by skilled craftsmen using traditional techniques that have existed for centuries
According to an ancient Greek myth, the gods and goddesses had their sandals made
on the beautiful island of Crete by a gifted sandal maker who enriched each pair with
magical powers.

Famous for having made the flying sandals for Hermes, the sandal maker also embellished them with his personal signature... a ‘golden wing’ buckle.

Alexandra Lavyl-shoes designer

in the pics you can see some designs of her first collection:
Lacrima F/W12-13
i found them really cool and very wearable!

Alexandra Lavyl is a Swedish footwear designer and the founder of LAVYL.
Her life's work is creating shoes of impeccable craftsmanship— silhouettes of feminine elegance that transform her deep love of nature into timeless fashion. She sees her shoes as sensual extensions of a woman's body, part of the continuing line of her form connecting her with the nature.

Today Alexandra lives and works both in Sweden and Italy.
Alexandra studied in footwear designer at CERCAL in San Mauro Pascoli, Italy where it has been the ground for learning to such names as Giuseppe Zanotti and Sergio Rossi. With her first hand-made shoe Alexandra has been selected by ANCI MICAM Milano, Italy for the price of one of the best Italian's creative talents "La scarpa Italiana" September 2008.

After the studies in Italy, she taught making shoes at London College of Fashion, one of the world's leading colleges for footwear design that has been the ground for learning to such names as Jimmy Choo and Rupert Sanderson. Her first hand-finished collection ‘The birth of the nude’ has been exhibited at the LCF gallery on Carnaby street in June 2009.
